Printer management made simpler

Printer Utility is a Windows desktop tool for managing printer queues, duplicating printers and transferring printer configurations between computers. It also checks existing printers, drivers and ports before importing a backup to help avoid unwanted conflicts.

  • Install the Microsoft PDF printer.
  • Export and back up printer configurations.
  • Import printers from a saved backup.
  • Compare backed-up printers with existing printers before import.
  • Check printer names, drivers, ports and IP/port conflicts.
  • Copy printer backups to a writable network share.
  • Restore supported printers remotely to another computer.
  • Refresh the installed printer list.

Purpose

The utility is intended to reduce the manual work involved in creating duplicate Windows printer queues and moving printer configurations from one Windows computer to another.

Import and remote restore operations perform checks before making changes, and existing printers or conflicting ports are not automatically overwritten.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • Administrator rights for functions that modify the system.
  • Required printer drivers must be installed on the destination PC.
  • Network access and appropriate permissions are required for network transfer or remote restore.
